It is once again time to release this highly anticipated post. There’s lots to share, so let’s jump right in.
Factions Announcement
Season II was our most successful map yet, with vast improvements on both Phase One, and the Season One map. We continued to learn a great deal about the kind of play style our players want directly from you, the players, and we have been hard at work building the next season based on that. Thus, we now draw Season II to a close, and move forward to Season III. We will post a full changelog in due course, but for now, here are some of the key changes in Season III:
- 16 Hour Faction Shields
- 6 Member Limit, Non-Upgradable, No Roster, Unlimited Alts
- 450 power per player (20 Chunk buffer + 5 x 5 (max) chunk interior + 675 power for raid claims, death buffer, etc)
- Reduced death power-loss amount to -1 per death
- To mitigate power boosting with inactive accounts, your power will degenerate 1.0 per 24 hours offline
Skyblock Announcement
Much like Season II of Factions, our first Season of Skyblock was also very well received. We had a lot to learn when it came to Skyblock and what our players want from a modern Skyblock Realm. We’ve had a huge amount of feedback from our Skyblock community and all of this has been pumped into Skyblock Season II. A full changelog for all of the changes to Skyblock will be posted in due course, but for now, here are some of the key changes in Season II:
- Completely new and unique quest system
- mcMMO Skills + Abilities
- Vastly more balanced economy

Survival Update
Factions and Skyblock are not the only realms included in this post! Survival will receive a content update shortly after the release of the new Seasons, with new feature additions, changes/balances to existing features, plus bug fixes and performance optimizations. As you may have noticed, we’ve already begun making changes to the economy, we welcome feedback on these, as well as suggestions for new content too.
Prison Update
As lots of you have requested it, I figured I’d give a quick update on the Prison realm in this post. Prison is still a planned realm on PR, however I am currently focused on the existing servers. Development for Prison will be resumed shortly, and I hope to start releasing polls and spoilers in the coming weeks. To ensure that we release a well-tailored Prison realm to our playerbase, if you have any suggestions for Prison, please contact me directly on Discord so that these can be included.
Events
With the release of the new maps, I am seeking suggestions for what kind of events you’d like to see on PR. Tournaments on Factions and a build contest on Creative are a given, as well as an increase in giveaways. What else would you guys like to see on the Network? Don’t be afraid to suggest something new, as we’re more than happy to have custom events coded by our expanded developer team (mentioned lower in this post). These can be special events that occur on an event realm, special in-game events that staff trigger on our existing realms, or in-game events that happen on a schedule-- we’re open to everything.
Advertising Strategy
I have been working on an advertising strategy for the next few months of Pure Realms in order to ensure that our playerbase is constantly growing. As a lot of you are aware, we were outbid by a single dollar on a powerful ad slot on one of the largest server list sites last week. However, there is no need to be dissuaded by this, as we will bid again on the next slot shortly after the new seasons are released. We are also pursuing other advertisement routes, through means such as Discord, TikTok and other social media platforms. I also hope to have a Media rank released soon, to encourage our own players to create YouTube content, or to stream us on Twitch.
Discord Updates
In the coming days, you will begin to notice changes on the Discord, as we begin a small overhaul in preparation for the deployment of the Pure Realms Bot. Our bot is packed with features that aim to make the Discord an even greater resource for both the players, and staff. These include -
- Discord <-> Minecraft linking (so we can sync your username, and your supporter ranks)
- A custom ticket system (so that we can handle your issues quicker than ever before)
- A suggestions handler, with recorded voting (so we never miss a suggestion)
- An update/changelog handler (allowing us to easily share realm changes that are made each day)
Staff Expansion
As you may have noticed, our Staff team is currently growing! In the last few days we have taken on 3 new developers, they are all experienced programmers with years of Minecraft development behind them, gained from working for a mix of large and smaller networks. The addition of these new team members gives us a massive increase in productivity, as we can better spread the custom plugin workload amongst the now 4 member strong team. You may see them in the Discord from time to time, but please do not approach them with bugs or issues, these need to go through the correct channels.
As an additional note on staff, there seems to have been some confusion recently over whether certain past PR players are current staff - to clear up any confusion, the website has been updated to show our current staff list, though most of those mentioned recently have not been staff for some time (phase one). A Staff Update containing new staff, as well as promotions of existing staff, will be posted on Thursday.
